Celebrating Freedom of Choice
Tomorrow, people across the country will commemorate the 1776 Declaration of Independence at 4th of July celebrations. The Founding Fathers fought for a government that protects the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness—this includes the constitutionally protected right to make decisions about your body so that you can live your best life.
In 2019, you can work to declare independence from the elected representatives and policies that don’t support what the Beehive wants and needs. How? Join the Beehive Community group so you can celebrate democratic values and defend the freedom of choice—not just on one day but all year-round!
Beehive Community Group You’re already a Planned Parenthood Ambassador and part of the Birds and the Beehive, but are you ready to take the next step in engagement for the civically-minded Ambassador? We are reorganizing a group, or forum for Ambassadors to advocate for civil liberties and local issues, building on the work of previous community groups like the People’s Justice Forum and the Reproductive Freedom Forum. If you are a member or have been a member of our collaborative lobbying groups in the past, I invite you to re-enlist. Or, if you are new to the Beehive—please join us!
Members of the group will meet on a monthly basis to discuss issues and attend events to learn and build skills to engage with local government. If you’re interested in this group and would like to know more, reach out to our Reproductive Freedom Fellow, Jessica, at email@example.com.
Join me in celebrating the essential freedom to make choices for our own bodies!
