It’s Election Day!
Today’s the day! Election Day is here and with it a chance to elect policy makers who represent our voice on a local level. Consider it a warm-up for Election 2020!
Haven’t mailed in your ballot? It is too late to mail ballots—they must have been postmarked by November 4th (yesterday). However, you can drop your ballot off today at a polling location or a local drop box. Find your nearest drop box in your city and simply drop your ballot in the box. In Salt Lake County, Election Day Vote Centers offer electronic voting machines that have an audio ballot and enlarged text. You can also utilize same-day voter registration in-person at a Vote Center with identification and proof of residency.
Wondering if your vote is being counted? You can track your ballot using this handy online tool here.
Elections matter. The folks sitting in city halls across the state matter, as they set the tone and create a welcoming city, or not. Municipalities are also used as a stepping stone to the Utah Legislature. City and county leaders who trample on individual rights on the local level will keep that up if they get elected to State office. So vote like your rights depend on it!
