Safe, Legal Abortion is Protected in Utah (for Now)
Lawsuit Update: Last Thursday, federal Judge Clark Waddoups barred Utah from enforcing the Utah Legislature’s 18-week abortion ban while our lawsuit against the state moves forward. This means that access to safe, legal abortion in Utah will continue (for now). As our fearless leader Karrie Galloway said, “Every person deserves the right to decide whether and when to become a parent, and we will continue to fight to protect the constitutional rights of Utahns to access safe, legal abortion.”
Want to join Planned Parenthood in Utah and the ACLU of Utah in standing up for reproductive rights in the Beehive? You can sign our letter making it clear to our Utah lawmakers that this latest abortion ban—part of the national movement to restrict access to safe and legal abortion—is an unconstitutional waste of taxpayer money that harms us all. Together, we will work to ensure that Utah women and their families are able to make the best decision for themselves, and live their best life.
