Week Five of the 2018 Utah Legislative Session
Call to Action around H.B. 205
Rep. Lisonbee and Sen. Bramble’s Down Syndrome Nondiscrimination Abortion Act was assigned to the Senate Judiciary, Law Enforcement, and Criminal Justice Committee this week. The committee’s meetings next week are scheduled for Monday at 4pm, Wednesday at 8am, and Thursday at 4pm, so we need all Ambassadors to email the committee members today and this weekend and ask that they not consider H.B. 205. The abortion ban in H.B. 205 is unconstitutional and the bill should die in their committee. Let them know you don’t want your hard earned tax dollars wasted on a lawsuit that the state will lose. Rather, the money should be spent funding the Division of Services for People with Disabilities (DSPD) and supporting people with disabilities and their families.
